Best news ever

Michele Sletcher

When I decided to follow my artist dream, I knew I had to step out of my comfort zone and put my art out there for people to enjoy. This took a lot of courage on my part. Self-doubt and impostor syndrome are real, and most artists starting out have to learn to overcome this.

Recently, I received the best news, which has helped me overcome this. My first submission ever has won 3rd place at the RAS Annual Members Exhibition! One of my main goals was to have one of my works exhibited in an exhibition, and now this has been achieved! I feel so grateful and privileged to have it out there for others to enjoy. The diverse range of topics, media and skills exhibited was incredibly inspiring, and the exhibition a testament to the wonderful work of the volunteers that run the society. The exhibition runs from 9 April to 11 May at the RAS Gallery, 395 Oxley Avenue, Redcliffe.

I have also been fortunate to have two works selected for the All Creatures and Wild Things Exhibition at the Petrie Terrace Gallery in Brisbane. If you have the opportunity, do pop in and see the wonderful works on display. The exhibition runs from 17 April to 11 May at the home of the Royal Queensland Art Society, Brisbane Branch, at 162 Petrie Terrace, and is well worth a visit.

Onwards and upwards!

Until next time 😊

Michele
