Lush is a vibrant painting reflecting the prolific growth found just under the surface of the water. These corals look plant-like, and the colour of the sea amplifies their gem-like emerald green colours. The variety of sizes and layers help create an interesting composition, with the gentle currents in the water providing movement and interest. It was in my childhood that I noticed the effects of water movement on perceptions of shape, and I remain inspired by this today.
